The Rules

How to play Loodie

🇯🇲

Jamaican Ludi

The classic Jamaican board game. Get all four men Home before your opponent — simple as that!

Rules: Normal Mode

🎲

Throw to Start

Throw at least one 6 to bring a man from Base onto your OUT — that man is born. In Normal Mode, a new man may join your own Block already on OUT, but an opponent Block on your OUT prevents Birth. If another move can use the 6, Birth remains your choice.

🔄

Throw Again!

Throw a 6 and you get another turn after you move. Keep the pressure on!

🏃

Move Forward

Move your men clockwise around the Track towards Home. No going back!

💥

Kill!

Land on an eligible single opponent man to kill it and send it back to Base. It must be born again to return.

🛡️

Block!

Two or more of your own men on one square form a Block. Opponents must queue behind it and cannot land on or pass it, except through the Block Kills Block rule.

💥

Block Kills Block

Your Block can Kill an opponent’s Block only when you throw doubles and the number on both dice exactly matches the number of squares between the two Blocks.

🏠

Enter Home

After passing the square labelled IN and turning towards Home, a man needs the exact number to finish. Too high? That man stays put.

🏆

Win the Game

The first player to get all four men Home wins! Well done!

🙅

Skip Turn

If you have no legal moves, your turn is skipped automatically.

🎲🎲

Two Dice!

Loodie uses two dice. You can move different men with each die value, or combine them for one man.

Optional Hard Rules

Turn on any Hard Mode rules you want to use in Regular games. Changes apply to new games.
